Employment Services Coordinator (ESC)

 

The Employment Services Coordinator is a casemanager that provides intake and assessment services to clients. The ESC and client work through a planning process to gather information to assess employability and vocational options. After making a vocational plan the casemanager supports the client through the steps of the plan.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Social Work or Human Science, two years experience in vocational counselling, two years experience working with people with disabilities (or a combination of equivalent education, skills and experience).

Employment Facilitator (EF)

 

The Employment Facilitator offer clients resume writing and job searching skills and are general support in assisting to find jobs. Once clients obtain a job, EF's provide job-coaching support to help them succeed in their new positions. The EF utilizes modeling, positive reinforcement and demonstration to support clients in their quest for employment.

 

Minimum Qualifications: College Diploma with two years experience working with people with disabilities and two years providing job-search assistance (or a combination of equivalent education, skills and experience).

Instructor

 

Instructors support clients to acquire skills and competencies in one, or more, of the following areas: personal life, leisure and employment. They are responsible for planning and developing curriculums, classroom instruction and evaluating client progress. Instructors also provide counseling/placement staff, supervisors and management with ongoing feedback and written evaluations in regards to the clients progress.

 

Minimum Qualifications: College diploma in the applicable field of instruction, two years teaching and facilitation experience as well as two years experience in working with people with disabilities (or a combination of equivalent education, skills and experience).

Employment Rehabilitation Worker (ERW)

 

The ERW assists individuals with disabilities and/or economic barriers to employment by increasing their employability by teaching pre-employment workshops such as computer and internet support.

 

Minimum Qualifications: College diploma in the area of rehabilitation, two years experience in group instruction of pre-employment and employability skills courses and one year experience in providing job-search assistance (or a combination of equivalent education, skills and experience).

Job Developer (JD)

 

This position is responsible for the marketing, employment preparation, employment placement and follow-up for participants in the Supported Employment Programs. The JD also develops relationships with the business community and develops appropriate marketing strategies for soliciting new employment opportunities for program participants.

 

Minimum Qualifications: College diploma in Business or Marketing, plus two years experience in social, health or related fields as well as vocational counseling/placement experience with individuals with disabilities (or a combination of equivalent education, skills and experience).

Recreational Therapist (RT)

 

The Recreation Therapist provides recreation and leisure programs to individuals with mental illness in a variety of community settings by assessing the client's recreation and leisure needs, developing and coordinating the delivery of appropriate plans, implementing planned interventions and evaluating outcomes in order to optimize a person's potential.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent from an approved college program plus two years recent related experience (or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience).

Administration vacancies are less frequent than direct service staff positions, but if you believe your education and experience would benefit THEO please submit a resume.
